Fall crop insurance deadline near
Wisconsin winter wheat growers have only
until September 30 to sign up for federally
subsidized crop insurance, or to make any
changes to existing policies.
Forage production and mint have the same
September 30th deadline.
This year, winter wheat growers will have
two different types of policies to choose
from: Crop Revenue Coverage (CRC) and the
traditional Multiple Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI).
Forage production and mint are insurable
with MPCI.
Not all crops are insurable in every county,
nor are all policy choices available in
every county. Producers wanting to learn
more, to sign up, or to make changes to
existing policies must contact a crop
insurance agent before the September 30
deadline.
